Join the Theatre CBS Family! Auditions and Casting for our Production Crew Now Underway

Theatre CBS is excited to once again present its annual radio-on-stage play, December 13 and 14 at All Saints Parish Hall in Conception Bay South, directed by Susan Bonnell.

Set in 1939, this memoir of growing up in the American Midwest follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas… "You'll shoot your eye out!" All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys' experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; and Ralphie's father winning a lamp shaped like a woman's leg in a net stocking.

As an addition for 2024, the company will be producing and showing videos to enact Ralphie's fantasy scenarios as part of the play.

The play has acting roles for 3 men, 5 women and 7 children (5 boys and 2 girls).

• Ralph (adult male and narrator)

• Mother (adult female)

• The Old Man (Raphie’s father, adult male)

• Miss Shields (adult female)

• Radio Announcers (3 female roles; singers preferred)

• Santa Claus, Tree Lot Owner, Delivery Man, Neighbour (adult male)

• Ralphie Parker (young male, 9-12 years)
